Harrah’s New Orleans Announces World Series of Poker Satellite Event
Harrah’s New Orleans has released the schedule for their Bayou Poker Challenge. This event will be setup as a World Series of Poker Satellite event. This differs from the World Series of Poker Circuit that is currently making its way around the country. The events do not award a championship gold ring, but do award cash prizes. Barbara Enright will be on hand to conduct a poker seminar for those interested. Her seminar will be on December 6th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in The Manor Room.
Also, most of these events will be deep stacked events. Jim Hoskins, General Manager of Harrah’s New Orleans stated, “One thing that our players consistently tell us is that they want more chips to start the tournament. In some cases, we have doubled the number of starting chips over what was done previously. This will allow players more bang for their tournament buck.”
Hotel rooms are available in the general area for those wanting to stay in New Orleans. The Intercontinental New Orleans has rooms at $79 a night and the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel has rooms starting at $89. When you call you need to mention the World Series of Poker rate in order to get the discounted rates.
The WSOP satellite events at Harrah’s New Orleans will offer players the opportunity to have some of the excitement of the World Series of Poker, but at an event cheaper cost than the WSOP Circuit.
