2012 WSOP Schedule Released

WSOP officials earlier today released the schedule for the 2012 WSOP.  The 2012 WSOP will be held from May 27th through July 16th 2012 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
The battle for the bracelets starts May 27th.

WSOP Bracelet Winner Thor Hansen Diagnosed With Terminal Cancer

The poker world was saddened on Tuesday to learn that two-time WSOP bracelet winner Thor Hansen has been stricken with terminal cancer.
Thor Hansen won 2 WSOP bracelets and over $2.9 Million in his poker career.
The announcement was made on twitter by Andreas Høivold who said that “It is a very sad day for Norwegian poker. »

Epic Poker League Could Be Sold Within 60 Days

Last year, the Epic Poker League began play as the “PGA of professional poker.”  The series of events, each capped with $20,000 rake-free Main Event, have been heralded by many and disdained by others.  Now, it appears that the fledgling poker league may be in sale talks.

2012 WSOP Dates Released in Dealer Training Ad

PokerStars Keeps the Sugar and Cuts Ties With Joe Hachem

Big One For One Drop Charity Even Now a WSOP Platinum Bracelet Event

Earlier in the week, WSOP officials announced that their Million dollar charity tournament, the Big One for One Drop, now has 22 players confirmed to play in the event.  This is the minimum threshold required for the event to be a Platinum Bracelet Event at the 2012 WSOP.

Epic Poker League Reaches Deal to Publish Global Poker Index in USA TODAY

The Epic Poker League announced on Wednesday that they have partnered with USA Today to publish the Global Poker Index standing weekly on USA TODAY and USAToday.com.  The EPL is the professional league started by WSOP bracelet winner Annie Duke and former WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack.
