Layne “Back to Back” Flack
Layne Flack was born in South Dakota and was raised in Montana. His introduction to the game of poker came from his grandparents but it was while working in a casino that he really developed an interest in the game. This interest quite often led to him heading to a different casino once he had finished work for the night. Once he decided that he was more interested in playing poker than working, he decided to quit his job and focus on playing poker full time.

He then met Johnny Chan who helped him to develop his game and taught him how to prepare for a big tournament. Now with six World Series of Poker bracelets under his belt Layne Flack lies in eighth place in the all time WSOP bracelet list.
His first bracelet was won in 1999 when he was the victor in the $3000 Pot Limit Hold’em. In 2002 he came away with two bracelets in the $2000 No Limit Hold’em and the $1500 No Limit Hold’em. 2003 saw him the winner of yet another two bracelets this time in the $2500 Omaha Hi-Lo Split and the $1500 Limit Hold-em Shootout. These two events were won one after the other and they gave him his nickname ‘Back-To-Back Flack’. In 2008 Flack notched up his sixth bracelet in the $1500 Pot Limit Omaha with re-buys.
Flack has had 23 WSOP cashes and with just over $2 million in winnings he currently stands at 48 on the all time WSOP winnings list. Many of the other professional poker players consider him to be one of the geniuses in the game. However Flack has not been without his problems. The success and fame that he found while playing poker took its toll and he began to turn to drink and drugs. He ended up in rehab in 2004 and was soon back at the tables where he continues to play today.
