Ferguson entered the World Series of Poker in 1995 and in 2000 he actually won the main event there by beating T.J. Cloutier. He has won five WSOP bracelets so far and lies in 15th place on the all time WSOP bracelets list. Not only did Ferguson win the main event in 2000 but he also won another bracelet that year in the $2500 Seven-card stud event. His other three bracelets were won in 2001 ($1500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or Better), 2003 (Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or Better and $2000 1/2 Limit Hold’em-1/2 Seven Card Stud).

With just over $4 million in WSOP winnings, Chris Fergus is currently in 22nd place of all time World Series of Poker winnings and he lies in 3rd place for all time cashes with 60 just behind Phil Hellmuth and Men “The Master” Nguyen.

Among his achievements has been the fact that he has managed to turn $1 into $20,000 playing poker online and from a pot of $0 on Full Tilt he managed to end up with $10,000. He managed this by winning in the freeroll tournaments first. He has a strong mathematical background which has helped him in the game. Ferguson is instantly recognizable in his wide brimmed hat and sunglasses and his long hair and beard have earned him the nickname Chris “Jesus” Ferguson.
