Allen Cunningham was born in 1977 and comes from Las Vegas, Nevada. He began playing poker as a teenager and it was while studying in UCLA that he really began playing the game. He then decided to give up his studies in civil engineering to play poker full time. This move proved to be a good one as he has certainly made more than a living playing poker professionally.
Cunningham has won five World Series of Poker bracelets so far with his first coming in 2001 when he was just twenty four years of age. This bracelet was won in the $5000 Seven Card Stud event. In 2002 Cunningham won his second WSOP bracelet, this time in the Deuce to Seven Draw. He then won bracelets in each year from 2005-2007 which brought his total WSOP bracelet wins to five. His last three bracelets were won in the $1500 No Limit Hold’em event (2005), the $1000 No Limit Hold’em with re-buys event (2006) and the $5000 Pot Limit Hold’em event (2007). He currently lies in 13th place on the all time list of WSOP bracelet winners.
Cunningham has won almost ten and a half million dollars in tournament winnings and almost seven million dollars of this has been won in World Series of Poker tournaments. He has cashed in 41 games at the WSOP. He has had a strong poker career so far despite being only 33 years of age. In fact not only did he win a WSOP bracelet in 2005 but he managed to reach four final tables that year which all helped him to win the WSOP Player of the Year that year.
Allen Cunningham currently lives in Las Vegas with his girlfriend and their dog and is still playing in all the major poker tournaments. We are sure to see more stunning poker from this young man.
