Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu was born in Canada in 1974 to Romanian parents. Daniel had plans to become a professional snooker player but at the age of 15 he discovered the game of poker and he was soon hooked. He dropped out of high school and began playing poker in and around Toronto. This allowed him to build a bankroll which he took to Las Vegas when he was 22 years of age. But it was not to be at this time and he lost all his money and had to head back home to start again.

Daniel Negreanu
Fortunately Negreanu did not give up his dream of becoming a professional poker player as he has picked up four World Series of Poker bracelets so far during his career. Two years after first heading to Las Vegas, Daniel Negreanu picked up his first WSOP bracelet in the $2000 Pot Limit Hold’em event. This made him the youngest player ever to have won a WSOP bracelet and this record was held by Negreanu until 2004.
In 2003 he picked up his second World Series of Poker bracelet, this time in the $2000 S.H.O.E. event. His final two bracelets were won in 2004 and 2008 both in the $2000 Limit Hold’em events. He is considered to be one of the best tournament players having also won two WPT events. In 2004 he was named as the player of the year at the World Series of Poker and in 2005 was named player of the year at the World Poker Tour.
With over 12.5 million dollars in tournament winnings so far, he lies just behind Phil Ivey in the all time money winners list. He has cashed 43 times at the World Series of Poker and these 43 cashes have seen him pick up WSOP winnings of almost three and a half million dollars.
