Paul “Eskimo” Clark
Paul ‘Eskimo’ Clark is a professional poker player who hails from Louisiana but who now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a Vietnam War veteran who worked as a medic during his time in Vietnam.
Clark’s first cash at the World Series of Poker came in 1988 in the $1000 Omaha Limit event for which he netted prize money of $4560 for finishing in 8th place. The following year he had another 8th place finish, this time in the $1500 Seven Card Razz event with $4770 in prize money. He did not cash again in this tournament until 1992 which was also the year that he picked up his first WSOP gold bracelet in the $5000 Seven Card Stud event. This first place finish along with his two other cashes that year saw him take home total prize money of $128,099.
He has won three WSOP bracelets in total. His second bracelet was won in 1999 in the $2000 Omaha 8 or Better event for which he earned prize money of $84,610. In 2002 he was the winner of a gold bracelet for the $1500 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo event and this time he netted $125,200.
His total tournament winnings so far amounts to just over two and a half million dollars and of that just over $632,000 came from 20 cashes at various World Series of Poker tournaments.
Paul Clark earned the nickname ‘Eskimo’ for the fact that he resembles the Alaskan Airlines logo. He can be found playing at the major poker tournaments across the United States and his last cash at the World Series of Poker came in 2007 when he finished 4th in the $1500 Seven Card Razz event for which he earned $31,186.
