ONeil Longson
O’Neil Longson comes from Las Vegas, Nevada and is a professional poker player. He first began playing in the major poker tournaments in 1980 and it was at the World Series of Poker that year that he first finished in the money placing 4th in the $1000 No Limit Hold’em event and picking up prize money of $13800.

In the same event at the 1985 World Series of Poker, he managed to finish in 8th position and picked up prize money of $6080. His next two cashes at the WSOP came in 1990 when he finished in 6th place in the $1500 Omaha 8 or Better event for which he picked up $9923 and 2nd place in the $5000 Pot Limit Omaha event for which he picked up $88,750. He managed to finish 12th in the Main Event in 1991 and received prize money of $11500.
Longson won three World Series of Poker bracelets during his career, the first of which was picked up in 1994 in the $1500 Pot Limit Omaha event and the prize money for this event totaled $100,800. His had to wait a few years however, before picking up his second bracelet in 2003. This time he won his gold WSOP bracelet for winning the $5000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw event and his prize money this time was $147,680. Bracelet number three was picked up in the $1500 Razz event in 2005 and his earnings from this competition were $125,690.
In total Longson’s World Series of Poker tournament earnings are estimated to be just over $1 million from 28 cashes. His total tournament earnings are thought to be over $2 million.
Problems with his hearing means that Longson does not play in as many tournaments as he used to. His son is also a keen poker player but does not play professionally.
