Mike “The Mouth” Matusow
Mike Matusow is a professional poker player who was born in California in 1968. He is known by a few nicknames such as ‘The Mouth’, ‘Mike Matusow Meltdown’ or ‘Mike Matusow Blow up’. These names have been earned by Mike for talking trash at the poker table and for his ability to sometimes spoil hours or even days of great play by making huge misjudgments.

Mike Matusow
Matusow worked as a poker dealer during the 1990s and it was here that he learned how to play the game properly. He had first started playing at the age of 18 and in 1989 was introduced to Texas Hold’em by Steve Samaroff, a rounder he had met.
Matusow has won three World Series of Poker bracelets during his career so far. His first bracelet was won in 1999 in the $3500 No Limit Hold’em event. This came a year after he had paid part of Scotty Nguyen’s stake for the Main Event which he eventually went on to win, giving Matusow a payout of $333,333. Matusow’s second WSOP bracelet was won in the $5000 Omaha Hi-Lo Split 8 or Better in 2002 and in 2008 he won his third bracelet in the $5000 No Limit 2-7 Draw with rebuys.
He has cashed in 27 World Series of Poker events and these cashes have earned him over $3 million in winnings. His total tournament winnings so far amount to just over $7 million. Although he has never won the Main Event at the World Series of Poker, he has finished 6th in 2001 and 9th in 2005.
He is a member of the Full Tilt Poker team and can still be found playing at the major tournaments. He is considered by many to be one of the best players in the game and many think of him as the most outspoken players that there ever was.
