The first time he finished at the final table of a World Series of Poker event was in 1989 in the $5000 Seven Card Stud event and he managed to secure 4th position picking up $26,950 in prize money. Before he actually won his first WSOP gold bracelet he cashed another five times at this tournament.

But thankfully in 1996 he secured his first World Series of Poker bracelet by winning the $500 Seven Card Stud Split event and picking up $22,400. In 1997 he picked up his second bracelet and $259,150 in prize money for winning the $2000 No Limit Hold’em event. He then had to wait five years before winning his third bracelet for which he did so in the $1500 Limit Omaha event.

In 2006 Cernuto actually made it to three final tables in the $1500 Seven Card Stud, $5000 Seven Card Stud and $1500 Seven Card Razz events. His total tournament winnings to date are estimated to be almost $5 million. World Series of Poker earnings total almost one and a half million dollars from 48 cashes and these cashes put him in 11th position on the list of all time WSOP cashes.

He continues and cash in some of the major poker tournaments all over the world.
