Eli Balas is a professional poker player living in Las Vegas, Nevada. His first venture into the world of poker tournaments was at the 1992 World Series of Poker tournament. He won his first gold WSOP bracelet at this tournament in the $1500 Omaha 8 or Better event, picking up $122,400 in prize money. He cashed again that year by finishing 10th in the $2500 Seven Card Stud event which netted him $3975 in prize money.

In 1993 he played at the World Series of Poker tournament and cashed again, this time finishing 12th in the $1500 Omaha 8 or Better event for which he won $3600. In 1995 he cashed in three events winning a total of $172,425. He finished 2nd in the $1500 Limit Hold’em event ($159,600), 8th in the $1500 Omaha Limit event ($4560) and 9th in the $1500 Omaha 8 or Better event ($5265).

He won three gold series of poker bracelets in total, and picked up his second in the 1999 $5000 Limit Hold’em event where he also picked up $220,000 in prize money. His third bracelet was won in 2004 in the $2500 Limit Hold’em event and this time he picked up $174,440.

After winning his third bracelet in 2004, Balas was back again in 2005 and again cashed in three events. He finished 45th in the $2500 No Limit Hold’em event ($7045), 26th in the $3000 Limit Hold’em event ($6725) and 2nd in the $1000 No Limit Hold’em event ($120,835). He cashed again that year in an event at the Fourth Annual Five Diamond World Poker Classic and that was to be his last recorded cash at any poker tournament event.

Balas’s total earnings in all tournament competitions is almost one and a half million dollars and with 24 World Series of Poker cashes behind him, he has accumulated WSOP earnings of just over $1 million.
