Not to be confused with his contemporary, the high-profile Men Nguyen, Minh Nguyen is a professional player with class and a colorful personality. He lives at Lake Elsinore, California, and learned the art of poker from his aforementioned namesake. He’s won two highly prized WSOP bracelets and is a player than many big names mention with reverence and a degree of sympathy. He’s known to have his ups and downs in the game, but his talent’s never in dispute.

Minh Nguyen won his two highly prestigious bracelets in consecutive years, starting in 2003. He first achieved victory in the $1.5K Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo Split to win $106,020 and the valued gold bracelet. The very next year he found fame for winning the $1.5K Pot Limit Hold’Em event, to take home an impressive $155,420. He’s been a regular feature of the professional poker circuit since 1999 and he continues to appear at final tables in big name games. With his two WSOP bracelets he cemented his reputation as someone to respect highly within the game.

There has been speculation that Minh Nguyen might sacrifice a large portion of his winnings to a sort of cartel. Whether there’s any truth in these allegations is a matter for debate, but he’s certainly one player who’s known to end up broke from time to time. But he always bounces back, whether or not he gets to keep all of his earnings from the tournament games.

With 160 cashes, 9 first place finishes, tournament winnings of over $2Million and of course his two prestigious WSOP bracelets, Minh Nguyen is a player who’s likely to have many more victories ahead of him. He has enormous potential, and could easily win even more bracelets if things go his way. As a player he’s a resident at Bell Gardens, California, where he might even be seen sporting his highly prized gold WSOP bracelets.
