A young man to have won not one, but two WSOP bracelets, John Paul Kelly hails from Aylesbury in England. From finding pleasure in playing poker for recreation with friends and family, he’s gone on to sit at card tables with some of the most respected names in the game. At just 23, it seems like there’s a glittering career ahead of this young former student.
What distinguishes John Paul Kelly from enthusiastic amateurs is that he’s truly dedicated to improving his game. He’s put an awful lot of time and effort into learning the nuances of the game, and to gaining experience. Hit rite of passage was probably the classic television show Late Night Poker, which he watched avidly before making the leap to an actual appearance on the show.
John Paul Kelly’s notable wins date back as far as 2005, from which time he’s enjoyed a steady rise to success. From events in the U.K and Ireland he’s expanded his horizons to visit the U.S. He’s taken part in world-class events in Las Vegas, and from somewhat humble beginnings he’s persevered. As the winner of two much coveted WSOP bracelets, Kelly’s officially a big name in the game with an established reputation in spite of his young age. His largest cash prize to date was $225,535 for winning a WSOP tournament in Europe. Prior to that he’d netted a cool $194,434 for beating 632 other players at a similar event Stateside.
John Paul Kelly doesn’t limit himself to poker, as he enjoys tennis and golf amongst other pursuits. He has a passion for traveling where the game takes him and enjoys the lifestyle that comes with that, making friends along the way and always enjoying the game. This all befits a young man with an exciting future ahead and some highly respectable achievements under his belt.
