JC Tran
Given the run of good luck J. C. Tran’s having, players at the WSOP tables would do well to watch out for him at this year’s tournaments. He’s won a WSOP bracelet for the last two years in succession, and it’s safe to assume that his sights are firmly set on even more jewelry.
Known to some as “Just Call” Tran from his habit of calling just about anything in order to see some action, Jason’s a flamboyant player with a definite presence around the table. He’s often to be seen wearing a baseball hat and shirt around the table, along with his shades. In all he’s performed 28 money finishes at the WSOP, always improving his skills with the passage of time, as evinced by his two prized items of jewelry.
J. C. Tran is a Vietnamese-American who’s based in Sacramento, California. As well as having won two WSOP bracelets he has a WPT title under his belt, having won the World Poker Challenge. He’s a winner of the World Championship of Poker’s main event and has the honor of being the WTP player of the Year for its fifth season
Tran’s first bracelet win came as a result of his success in the $1.5K No Limit WSOP Hold’Em tournament in 2008. For his success in this competition he won over $631K in prize money. He won his second bracelet in 2009, at the $2.5K Pot Limit Omaha competition, where he also took home over $235.
Tran’s is a fairytale ‘rags to riches’ story, as he’s grown from humble beginnings to earn millions from his skills around the table. The youngest of eight children, his Vietnamese parents moved to the States when Tran was just two years old. He shows every sign of continue to progress until he reaches the very top of the game.
