This Vietnamese American is a real veteran of professional poker. He moved to Southern California when he was around 27 years of age, and soon became a regular character on the professional tournament circuit. With his steely expression and his ruthless style of play, he’s known to dispatch even the most respected of players. Other poker faces around a table where he’s present can never afford to let their guard down, and spectators with an eye for quality will hope that he will long remain a force in the game.

Hieu "Tony" Ma

Hieu Ngoc Ma’s a player who’s in the game for big money. His amassed tournament winnings alone stand at over $4.1Million and no less than 22 cashes at the World Series of Poker account for over $1Million of that. Among his proudest achievements are his two bracelet wins. The WSOP bracelet is one probably the most prized award in the world of poker and to have won not one, but two is a phenomenal achievement.

Limit Hold’Em seems to be the game at which Hieu Ngoc Ma excels, and it’s for his illustrious achievements at this style of poker that he’s been awarded his two WSOP bracelets. The first came in 1996, when he soaked up the applause for winning the $5K Limit Hold’Em event to take home a massive $236K. Four years later, in 2000, Hieu Ngoc Ma triumphed in the $2K Limit Hold’Em event to win an even bigger sum of $367,040, and of course the jewelry.

Hioeu Ngoc Ma lives in South El Monte with his wife and his two children. He’s a real success story within the game, having progressed from the bottom of the game to the very top through skill and hard work. He’s an example to many young players looking to rise within the game and he shows no signs of retiring yet.
