Greg “FBT” Mueller
Greg Mueller is a big name in the world of high stakes professional poker – a game that features many colorful personalities. A former professional hockey player from Vancouver in British Columbia in Canada, his game developed over many years of playing and traveling with the team. At times controversial, Mueller has been criticized in the past for ‘bending’ the rules.
With earnings of over $1.7 million, Greg Mueller is well known on the professional circuit. Enthusiasts of online poker are also likely to be familiar with his name. He retired from professional hockey in 1999 and since then he’s gone on to play in some of the biggest tournaments worldwide, and with great success.
Mueller reached his first WSOP final table in 2006, finishing 4th and netting over $142,000. By 2009 he’d reached the very top of the game, and won two highly prized WSOP bracelets of which he is rightfully very proud. He won these in tournaments that were only 11 days apart and took home around $630,000 from the games. In all he has made it to the final tables 8 times in the World Series Of Poker.
When he’s not playing poker, Mueller enjoys many other activities. His total earnings from poker exceed $1.7 million and he’s now a restaurateur with a part share in a Vancouver eating establishment. He enjoys spending time with friends and family at home and pursuits outside poker include acting and golf. He likes fantasy sport pools and is a devotee of skat – a card game similar to bridge that originates in Germany.
Mueller shows no signs of retiring from the game and it’s to be assumed that he has a good many wins ahead of him. A good all round player he’s active in online games and an expected feature at world-class tournaments.
