Peter Eastgate is a professional poker player from Denmark who was born in 1985 and was brought up in Odense. He first learned to play the game of poker in school and he developed a love for the game which did not leave him and which eventually saw him drop out of Aauhus University. He had by this time decided that his desire in life was to play poker full time.

Eastgate is widely recognized in the poker tournament circuit for his 2008 World Series of Poker $10000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship Main Event win in which he surpassed Phil Hellmuth to become the youngest player to have ever won this event. However, his record was snatched out from under him in just a year’s time by Joe Cada.

Eastgate had actually qualified for his seat at the Main Event through the Ladbrokes website and he was part of the Team Ladbrokes that travelled to Vegas for this tournament. The final table played for 15 and a half hours before Eastgate eventually became the winner and picked up his one and only WSOP bracelet so far.

He has only cashed twice at the World Series of Poker but he is still in second place of the all time money winners list at the WSOP. This is because of his huge $9 million World Championship prize money. This colossal amount also contributes to the fact that he stands in sixth place on the all time money list in all tournaments with almost $11 million in winnings so far.

We can expect great things from Eastgate as he is still so young yet has already made a name for himself on the world poker tournament circuit. He is still playing in the major tournaments and can be found playing poker online too. He is a representative of Team PokerStars with fellow professional players such as Joe Cada, Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymaker.
