Here in this video we are looking to be able to determine other people’s hands. These skills will allow you to be very effective at the table. Sean Niven came in and talked about how you need to memorize how people play different hands. This can be some gentle tells. You also can wait till people are heads up to be able to get a better read.

You can also look at people online. The way for this is that you can look at betting patterns. People will bet heavy on a bluff or light when they have it. Also a player’s background can determine many players style. Often United Kingdom players stay to the ABC’s.

Next we need to place players in groups. The two big groups are loose and tight. Tight plays few hands while the loose plays lots of hands. You also need to categorize aggressive and passive players. Aggressive will raise often and like to be in charge while a passive player will check and call most of the time. The best players mix in both of these strategies depending on the players on the table. They also just mix it up some times to keep you on tilt.

The reason you need to observe people is because this is how you take your game to the next level. Players often times get stuck at a certain level because they don’t learn how to read people. Just like anything it takes time to develop a keen eye for little things. Often times it can be beneficial to start off by avoiding a few hands just so you can see the mannerisms of the players.

While this is hard work this tactic will allow you to greatly improve your odds of winning.
