Playing from the Blinds
Playing the blinds puts you in a unique situation. The problem is that you need to put money in before you even get to see your cards. There are advantages to this though. For one at times you are going to be able to see the flop without having to put in any more money. This can be advantageous when that week hand looks much better after the flop. You do not want to start going in with weak hands because you are getting a discount though. It is important still to throw away those lower hands when people raise.
You also are going to be able to view the table before the flop. This allows you to be able to see how everyone reacts to the hand. The negative off all this is that you are going to be the first to act after the flop. This means all of the reading you just did will come back when everyone gets to see how you act first from the flop. Then many players will try to steal away the pot in a late position after the flop.
The best part of being one of the blinds is that you have a chance to sneak into winning pot. The problems are twofold. First you are placing money into a pot before you get to ever see your cards. The second part is that you are going to be first to act after the flop.
The advantageous are obvious. You get a chance to be able read everyone and even steal away a hand or two with a late bet. Also you know that soon you are going to be in the best position of the table on the button.
