2011 WSOP Sets Numerous Attendance and Prize Pool Records

This years WSOP ended up breaking many records, which came as a surprise to quite a few. The legal trouble surrounding online poker led many players and commentators to worry that the number of entrants would be dramatically low. It turned out to be just the opposite.

2011 WSOP Event #56 Recap – Hasan Anter Wins $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Event With Royal Flush

Event #56 of the 2011 WSOP was the final $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Event of the series.  On Day 1 of this event a super-sized field of 3,389 players turned out for the last preliminary NL Event before the Main Event.

2011 WSOP Event #55 Recap – Brian Rast Wins $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship

Event #55 of the 2011 WSOP was the $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship.  This was the most anticipated event of the series by pros due to the history behind the event and the fact that the winner is recognized by many as the “True World Champion of Poker.”

2011 WSOP Event #54 Recap – Maxim Lykov wins $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event

2011 WSOP Main Event Day 1d Recap – Field of 6,865 Third Largest in WSOP History

2011 WSOP Event #57 Recap – Nick Binger Wins the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Event

Event #57 of the 2011 WSOP was the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Event.  A total of 352 players turned out for this event, a 25% increase over last year’s field size.  The players were all battling for the final preliminary bracelet of the series and $397,073.

2011 WSOP Event #53 Recap – Marsha Wolak Wins $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Championship

2011 WSOP Event #52 Recap – Matt Matros Wins $2,500 Mixed Hold’em Event

Event #52 of the 2011 World Series of Poker was the $2,500 Mixed Hold’em Event.  The Limit/No-Limit mixed event drew a field of 580 players turned, all looking to take the bracelet and $303,501 in top prize money.
