Satellites Now Available for Big One for One Drop Event
The Big One For One Drop is from July 1st through 3rd of this year and will be the first ever $1 Million buy-in poker tournament. Fans can expect legends of the game as well as philanthropists and businessmen to take part in the game in an attempt to win the first ever platinum WSOP bracelet.
Of course, not everyone can afford the steep $1 Million price tag. As such, the WSOP announced on Tuesday a series of satellites for the event that will give players of all buy-in levels a chance to win their seat into this historic tournament.
Venues around the country will start to offer live step-satellite poker events that will ultimately result in a seat for the $25,300 mega satellite on June 30th at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The mega satellite event will have at least one seat guaranteed into the Big One for One Drop Event. After that, there will be a seat awarded for every 40 players in the event.
The first event will kick off on Thursday April 5th at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, California. A $500 satellite will award a seat into the $25,300 mega event on June 30th. Each property on the schedule will hold a series of step satellites starting at $65 and awarding seats into a mega-satellite much like the one at the Bike. Each mega-satellite will award at least one seat into the June 30th event.
Canadian players will also have a chance to win their way into the event. On May 19 and 20th, the Loto-Québec will present the Grand Loto-Québec Poker Tournament at the Casino du Lac-Leamy and the event will award a $1 Million seat into the Big One for One Drop Event. Players can either buy-in directly, play in step satellites in Quebec casinos, or even earn a seat through scratch-off lottery ticket. The Big One for One Drop is a special charity event that will see $111,111 of each buy-in donated to One Drop, a charity that provides healthy water to third-world countries. In addition to the platinum bracelet, the winner is expected to a cash prize in excess of $10 Million.
