Harvey's Lake Tahoe WSOP Circuit Main Event Day 1 – Third Update
During Level 6, Allen Kessler picked up a nice pot with pocket kings after flopping a set and turning a full house. After the pot, he moved up to 48,000 in chips. Chris Ferguson then saw a flop of Kd-8c-5d with three other players. Ferguson bet out 1,300 and only Ty Stewart made the call. The turn fell the As and Ferguson bet out 3,300. Stewart made the laydown and Ferguson moved up to 30,000 in chips.
Players then went to dinner for 60 minutes. It was announced before dinner break that players would come back and play two more levels. Originally, players were supposed to come back and play just one additional level but several players, including Allen Kessler convinced the staff to change the schedule.
Scott Clements quietly has moved up to among the chip leaders. On a flop of As-6c-8h, Clements bet out 5,000 and was called. The turn fell the Kc and Clement’s opponent bet out 5,000. Clements then moved all-in and was insta-called by his opponent who showed A-6. Clements showed pocket eights for the set and was far head. The river fell a harmless 3h and Clements moved up to 76,000 in chips.
At the end of Level 6, Ferguson chipped up at the expense of Neil Blumenfield. Three players made it to the river, with the board showing Kc-6h-5c-Qs-Jh. Ferguson bet out 6,000, which forced the third player to fold. Blumenfield was all-in on the turn and showed Jc-10c for air. Ferguson showed Kh-Qh for two pair to eliminate Blumenfield and move up to 48,500 in chips.
Sabyl Cohen-Landrum was eliminated in Level 7 by Scott Roberds. She was all-in pre-flop for her last 6,025 and was called by Roberds. Roberds held A-9 and Landrum held pocket sevens. An ace spiked on the flop to put Roberds in the lead. Landrum was unable to catch up and Roberds caught a nine on the river to give him aces up. Landrum headed out the door while Roberds stacked his chips.
Action will continue for another level at this Circuit Main Event today. We will be back to bring you the rest of the action from today’s event. Stay tuned to see who survives to Day 2.
