This was the first time the circuit was in a Los Angeles casino and the event was capped off by the $1,500 NL Hold’em Main Event. The event drew a staggering 549 players for the event and by the time the final table was reached, WSoP bracelet winner Freddy Deeb emerged as the champion.

Freddy Deeb wins the first ever WSOP Circuit Event to be held at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles.

The finale for this event was stacked with former bracelet winners Deeb and David Singontinko. Former circuit ring winners Alexandru Masek and Tsung Lu were also at the table. Deeb started the final table with the chip lead with 2.35 Million and was never in any real danger the entire time.

Once heads-up play was reached between Deeb and former ring winner Masek, deeb held a 2-1 chip lead and the final matched last just about an hour. The final hand saw Masek all-in and flipping for his tournament life with Ah-Kh against pocket queens for Deeb. The board flop and turn both brought a heart and gave Masek a chance for a flush, but the river fell a harmless 4d to give Deeb his first circuit ring and a spot into the National Championship.

Freddy Deeb took home $171,810 in addition to his first ring for taking down the Bike Circuit Main Event. This brings Deeb’s lifetime winnings to around $3.5 Million. Deeb has two WSOP bracelet, one for the 1996 2-7 Lowball Championship and the other for his winning the 2007 WSOP $50,000 HORSE Event.

Deeb’s win earned him a spot into the $1 Million guaranteed 2011-2012 WSOP Circuit National Championship to be held in Las Vegas at the Circuit season’s end. The winner of the event will be awarded the first WSOP bracelet of 2012.

News of the return of the poker website was announced via Twitter and stated that the website was going to be back up and running offering cash poker games to players in 2012. Now, just over a month later it looks like PokerRoom.com has indeed made a comeback and is back in the game.

PokerRoom.com offers players a unique playing experience, as players can not only register to become part of the online community, but players can also sign up to make their first deposit into the online casino and take part in sit-and-go and tournament games at PokerRoom.com.

The newly designed website is ready for the comeback of the year and is welcoming back players that have sat at the virtual tables in the past, as well as new players in their first time taking to the online Texas Holdem tables.

PokerRoom.com is welcoming back players with an exclusive welcome bonus that gives the player one hundred percent of the deposit as a casino bonus, for deposits of one hundred dollars, five hundred, or one thousand dollars. Players can take advantage of the exclusive deposit bonuses by signing up and making their first easy deposit to PokerRoom.com – and get ready to play immediately.

The rumours have been buzzing around the internet for weeks in anticipation of the comeback of the popular poker website. Now, players can head on over to the PokerRoom website and make their first deposit to take part in poker games at one of the original poker websites offering real money games to players just like you.

Compared to last year, attendance throughout the series is up twenty five percent and consists of both the professional poker players, and those trying to have a shot at the final event. Buy-ins for the tournaments and events ranges between $345 to $1,600, allowing anyone with the funds to enter the competition and take part in the National Poker Tour.

There are a total of seventeen stops throughout the Poker Tour, and the high enrolment figures are an indication that American Poker is indeed live and strong, even post Black-Friday.

With eleven events that are left for the events of the early part of 2012, cumulative collections of points will indicate the sixty-six lucky players that have earned enough points to enter for a chance to win the big one. These players will gain admittance into the National Championship for the WSOP Circuit.

With seventeen events scheduled, both professionals and amateurs can gain a chance to be part of the top 100 players, and pay the $10,000 entry fee to the National Championship, based on the World Series of Poker world rankings. The winner of the event will receive the first gold bracelet of the 2012 WSOP season.

With several stop still remaining, there are plenty of chances to earn a shot at the National Championship including the first ever event to be played in Los Angeles at the Bicycle Casino. The event runs from January 1st through the 12th.

The season is set, dates are arranged and the prizes are going to be large. More than ever, amateurs and professional poker players alike can gather together throughout the tournaments for the chance to get ahead in the rankings, and enter for a chance to win. A dream for many players, this could be the year that you decide to take part for as little as a $345 buy-in for an event.

Lamb beat out many other skilled professionals for the title. Among the names fighting for WSOP Player of the Year were Brian Rast, Phil Hellmuth, Sam Stein, and online sensation Chris Moorman. Lamb was able to secure the win with his 3rd place finish in the Main Event.

While Lamb has been known around Vegas for his cash game skills, he was not as recognized for his tournament play until recently. He had had 6 cashes in the WSOP before this year, including a final table in 2010 and a 14th place finish in the 2009 Main Event for $633,022.

In 2011 Lamb went on a tear. He had five total cashes, including his bracelet win in Event #42. He started his hot streak off by coming in second in Event #31- $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha. He took home $ 259,918 for that event. Lamb then followed it up with a win in Event #42-$10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Championship. He took home $814,436 for that win. He came in 12th in Event #46-$10,000 No Limit Hold’Em Six Handed Championship and received $ 56,140 in prize money.

Lamb became a media sensation. His calm table persona, fearless play, and ice-cold stare made him a hit with players, fans, and commentators. He displayed the poise of someone who had been playing for years. Phil Hellmuth, who battled Lamb at the final table of the $50K Poker Players Championship, said Lamb was one of the most impressive players he had seen.

Lamb then capped off his tournament run with two amazing finishes. He final tabled the $50K Players Championship, eventually coming in 8th place for $201,338. Many thought that Lamb was destined to win the Main Event. He was a dominating force from Day 1. He amassed a huge stack, and was the table caption at nearly all points. Lamb ended up taking 3rd in the Main Event, winning $4,021,138 and sealing his WSOP POY win.

After months of anticipation, the 2011 WSOP Main Event final table aka the November Nine kicked off on Sunday at the Rio in Las Vegas, NV. Martin Staszko led a strong final table that included 2011 WSOP Main Event player of the year Ben Lamb and renown online poker pro Phil Collins.

Pius Heinz is the 2011 WSOP Main Event Champion

As expected, action started slow at the final table with the players trying to avoid any big mistakes. It took a couple of hours before the first player was lost, but short stack Sam Holden was the first to go. He was all-in with As-Js and Ben Lamb made the call with Ah-Kc. The board failed to hit Holden and the short stack was the first one to hit the rail.

Anton Makiievskyi was next to hit the rail as he went all-in pre-flop with Kc-Qh against the pocket nines of Pius Heinz. A flop of Kd-Jh-Js gave Makiievskyi the lead, but a turn nine gave Heinz the full house and the elimination.

Bob Bounahra was the short stack after the elimination of Makiievkski and decided to gamble with Ah-5c. Martin Staszko woke up with As-9d and the nine held to send Bounahra out in 7th.

Phil Collins was almost the next to hit the rail as he ran Qh-Jd into the Ac-Qc of Ben Lamb, but Collins caught four running cards on the board for a flush to double-up.

Ben Lamb was the short stack after the suckout by Collins with Eoghan O’Dea the second short stack. O’Dea had started the day 2nd in chips, but he steadily slid during the final. In a huge hand against Lamb, Lamb decided to shove with Qd-8d and O’Dea made the call with Ac-9c. O’Dea looked poised to eliminate Lamb through both the flop and the turn, but a river eight left O’Dea with just 2 Million. A short time later, O’Dea got his miniscule stack in with Q-6 and Martin Staszko called with pocket eights. The board missed both players, and we were down to 6 players.

Collins sat as the short stack with 5 players left and put his last 19 Million at risk with a three-bet shove with Ad-7d. Pius Heinz made the call with pocket nines. The flop fell 6s-5c-4d for an open-ended draw. The turn 9d gave Heinz a set, but now Collins had a flush draw to go with his straight draw. The river fell the 7s and just four were left.

Ben Lamb was again the short stack with three players left and soon was all-in with Ah-7h against the pocket jacks of Matt Giannetti. The flop fell Kh-5h-9d to give Lamb a flush draw and a turn 4h gave him the flush to cripple Giannetti. Giannetti would manage a double-up before putting his stack at risk with A-3. Lamb woke up with pocket kings and had to fade three outs. It was over with on the flop as Lamb proceeded to flop quad kings, and the final three players in the November Nine were set.

The three players returned on Tuesday to play it out for the bracelet and $8.7 Million in prize money. This is how the final three players started action on Tuesday:

Pius Heinz 107,800,000

Ben Lamb 55,400,000

Martin Staszko 42,700,000

In the very first hand of action between the final three, Martin Staszko three-bet Lamb pre-flop and Lamb shoved with Kh-Jd. Staszko made the call with pocket sevens and the two were flipping for their tournament lives. The board failed to hit Lamb, and he was now left with just 14 Million.

Three hands later, Lamb decided to shove with Qs-6h against Staszko and again Staszko picked up a pocket pair in jacks. The board ran out 5h-2s-5c-2c-7s and we were heads-up.

Martin Staszko started the heads-up match with Pius Heinz with the chip lead and the two battled back and forth for five more hours. Staszko had begun to pull away from Heinz before a huge flip swung the momentum back to Heinz.

After a raise to seven Million by Heinz, Staszko called to see a flop of Ks-10c-7c. The chips began to fly and Heinz three-bet shoved with just Ah-Qh for a gutshot straight draw. He was shocked when Staszko called and showed Qc-9c for a flush draw and sucker end of the straight draw. The turn fell the 3h and river the 6s and Staszko held around 40 Million in chips.

A few hands later, Staszko made what appeared to be a misplay when he open shoved with 10c-7c. Heinz looked down to As-Kc and made the easy call. The flop 5c-2d-9s missed both but the turn Jh gave Staszko a straight draw. The river fell the 4d and the confetti started to fly as Pius Heinz was now the champion.

Pius Heinz is the first ever champion from Germany. He played the game of his life at the final table to win the 2011 WSOP Main Event bracelet and $8.7 Million in prize money.

This concludes the 2011 WSOP. It has definitely been a memorable one and I have enjoyed bringing you recaps of the event. Now the anticipation begins for the 2012 WSOP. As always, we will be here to bring you news, opinions, and recaps of everything WSOP.

Tristan Wade Wins First Major Title in €3,200 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout

A field of 256 players turned out for Event #4 of the 2011 WSOP Europe, the €3,200 No-Limit Hold’em Shootout. After two days, the final table was reached and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier was looking for his 2nd bracelet of the year. ElkY took down the $10,000 Stud World Championship at the 2011 WSOP in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, ElkY fell short of his goal, falling in 5th place. It was Tristan Wade and Michael Watson that ultimately battled for the bracelet heads-up. Although he started behind Watson at the start of the match, Wade eventually dug out of his hole and took the chip lead.

The two battled back and forth a bit and Wade held a slight lead at the start of the final hand. After Watson raised to 60k, Wade three-bet to 144k. Watson then shoved and was insta-called by Wade who showed pocket jacks. Watson showed Ah-5h and needed help.

Help never came on the board as it ran out Qc-Qd-4h-10c-2h and Tristan Wade wins his first bracelet. In addition to his first bracelet he received €182,048 in prize money.

Michael Mizrachi Wins Second Career Bracelet in €10,400 Split Form Hold’em Event

Event #5, the €10,400 Split Format NL Hold’em Event drew a start studded field of 125 players. Players had to survive three different formats of NL Hold’em to become champion.

Day 1 consisted of nine handed play. Day 2 was six-handed and starting with the final 16 players, the format was single elimination heads-up.

Erik Seidel, Jason Mercier, Brian Hastings, Noah Schwartz, Shawn Buchanan, and Michael Mizrachi were among the final 16 players.

When the final matchup was reached, it was Michael Mizrachi with a 1 Million chip lead over Shawn Buchanan. The grinder wasted little time knocking down Buchanan to just 480k.

In the final hand, Mizrachi moved all-in with A-10 and was behind the A-J of Buchanan. Much like his elimination of Matt Jarvis in last year’s Main Event, Mizrachi would spike his needed ten on the flop and his pair would hold to give him his second bracelet victory.

In addition to bracelet #2, Mizrachi took home €336,008 in prize money.

Philippe Boucher Knocks Out Entire Final Table to Win Event #6

Nicolas Fierro led after Day 1 and Day 2 of Event #6, the €1,620 Six-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha Event. He took the chip lead into a final table that included Alexander Dovzhenko, and Jarred Soloman.

However, it was Canadian Philippe Boucher that stole the show. He eliminated literally every player at the final table, including Fierro in 3rd place.

The final matchup was Boucher against Michel Dattani and he quickly took a 4 to 1 chip advantage early on. Ultimately, with just about 100k in chips left, Dattani found Ac-Ad-Jc-7s and took his stand. Boucher had As-Qc-10d-9c and plenty of drawing chances. The flop 6c-8c-6d gave Dattani the nut flush draw, and Boucher would need running straight cards to win.

The turn Js and river Qh gave Boucher his runner-runner straight and the final knockout for the bracelet. This was Boucher’s first bracelet and with it he received €124,584 in prize money.

The Main Event is currently underway and has already set a record for the largest WSOP Europe Main Event in history. We will be back once that is completed to let you know the champion of the 2011 WSOP Europe Main Event.

Event #1 of the 2011 WSOP Europe was the 2,680 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold’em Event. A field of 360 players took to the tables on Day 1 looking for the first bracelet of the fall WSOP series.

Phil Hellmuth made headlines as he made a deep run in the event, but fell short of the final table, falling in 6th place. This puts him just behind Ben Lamb in the Player of the Year race, and Hellmuth needs to min-cash in at least one remaining event to take the lead.

Ultimately, it was Guillaume Humbert that took down his first WSOP bracelet in the first ever live tournament he has ever played. He won the bracelet and €215,999 in top prize money.

Event #2 – Andrew Hinrichsen Wins €1,090 No-Limit Hold’em Event

Event #2 drew the largest crowd in WSOP Europe history with a combined field of 771 players. Heading into the final table of play, Roberto Romanello was looking to become the latest Triple Crown winner having already won a WPT and EPT title. He would fall short and finished the event in 5th place.

The chip leader at the start of the final table Gianluca Speranza took a strong chip lead into heads-up play with Andrew Hinrichsen, but Hinrichsen luckboxed his way to the chip lead. After shoving with 10-8 pre-flop, Speranza called with pocket fives. Hinrichsen spiked a ten and took the chip lead. Just a few hands later, Speranza was coolered for the rest of his stack. The two battled to the river on a king high board and Hinrichsen put Speranza all-in. Speranza made the call and turned over K-9 for top pair. Unfortunately for him, Hinrichsen held A-K for same pair, better kicker.

Aussie Andrew Hinrichsen takes home his first bracelet and €148,030.

Steve Billirakis Wins 2nd Career Bracelet in €5,300 Pot Limit Omaha Event

The €5,300 Pot Limit Omaha Event drew a stacked field of 180 players. This fact was highlighted by the strength of the final table. Sam Trickett took the chip lead into the final table against a field that included Erich Kollman, Steve Billirakis, and 2011 WSOP November Niner Eoghan O’Dea.

O’Dea was the first player to fall at the final table. Trickett failed to capitalize on his chip

and wound up finishing in 4th place. Heads-up play was between Billirakis and Michele Di Lauro with Billirakis holding a nearly 4 to 1 chip lead. The final hand saw Di Lauro shove with top pair and gutshot draw and Billirakis call with top two pair. The turn and river both fell blanks and Billirakis wins his second career bracelet.

Steve Billirakis became the youngest person in WSOP history to win a bracelet in 2007 and has now finally added to that bracelet total. In addition, he took home €238,140 in prize money.

The action is just getting started at the 2011 WSOP Europe. There are still four open events left to be won, including the WSOP Europe Main Event. In addition, the non-bracelet Ladies Event and the Caesars Cup are yet to be played.

Stay tuned as we bring you recaps of the winners and major stories from the 2011 WSOP Europe.

Day 8 of the 2011 WSOP Main Event began with 22 players all looking to make the November Nine. It was a long and grueling night. The players were going to play until they reached the final 9. It took 81 hands to reach the final 9.

The 2011 WSOP November Nine

The chip leader going into Day 8 was Anton Makiievskyi. He began the day in strong fashion and at one point had crossed the 30 million-chip threshold. Makievskyi eliminated Chris Moore. Moore is likely going to remember Makievskyi for the rest of his life.

It was Makievskyi who busted Moore and it was also Makievskyi who crippled him on Day 7 in the one of the biggest pots of tournaments when Moore flopped trips with top kicker and lost to a flopped boat.

Makievskyi later eliminated Moore when Moore moved all in with pocket Kings and Makievskyi drew out on him with As-Td. Makievskyi finished the day in 8th place with 13,825,000 million chips.

Khoa Nguyen began Day 8 3rd in chips (16,435,000) but a series of hands left him short stacked. He doubled through Bryan Devonshire but was later eliminated when he 3-bet Martin Staszko and called Staszko’s shove. Staszko had pocket Kings and Nguyen had pocket Tens. The kings held and Nguyen was eliminated in 11th place.

The November 9 bubble played for a while, with all the players playing tight. Eoghan O’Dea (33,925,000) and Martin Staszko (40,175,000) took command of the final table and managed to finish with the biggest stacks. John Hewitt was the player to eventually bust in 10th place. He lost an important pot to Badih Bounahra, which left him crippled.

Bounahra was short stacked and only had around 9 million in chips. Hewitt opened for 1.1 million and Bounahra, who woke up with pocket Kings, shipped his stack in. Hewitt was way behind with Kc-Qs and could not catch. Badih Bounahra ended up finishing the day in 6th place with 19,700,000 in chips.

Hewitt was now in dire straights and had to get his chips in with almost any two cards. He finally got it in as a flip against Ben Lamb. Lamb opened for 1.1 million in middle position. Hewitt was in the big blind and moved all in for his remaining 3.8 million. Lamb had Ks-Jd and Hewitt had pocket 3’s. The flop came Qc-Td-7s, and the turn as an Ah, which put Hewitt drawing dead. Hewitt was eliminated as the bubble boy and the official final table had been reached.

There are only 3 Americans at the final table, which is the fewest there has ever been. Matt Giannetti (24,750,000), Phil Collins (23,875,000) and Ben Lamb (20,875,000) are the three Americans playing for the bracelet.

The complete breakdown of chips is as follows:

Martin Staszko 40,175,000

Eoghan O’Dea 33,925,000

Matt Giannetti 24,750,000

Phil Collins 23,875,000

Ben Lamb 20,875,000

Badih Bounahra 19,700,000

Pius Heinz 16,425,000

Anton Makievskyi 13,825,000

Samuel Holden 12,375,000

The November Nine will return to the Rio on November 5th where they will play until the final two are reached. Those players will return on November 7th to play heads-up for the bracelet. The next night, the entire final table will be broadcast on ESPN television.

It has been a pleasure bringing you coverage and recaps of the 2011 WSOP and we hope you will be back to check out our coverage of the 2011 WSOP Europe and in November for the November Nine final table.

Day 7 of the 2011 WSOP Main Event began with 57 players living the dream of playing for a shot at the November Nine. By the end of the day, only 22 of them made it through to continue living the dream. The players and spectators are all aware that the November 9 is just around the corner and every hand is important. The day saw several eliminations, the biggest pot of the tournament, and a new chip leader.

Anton Makievskyi leads going into the final day of the Main Event.

Erik Lindgren was the most high profile player remaining in the event at the start of play. He began the day with 2.19 million in chips. Lindgren was not able to get anything going and eventually he moved all in from the hijack with his remaining 640,000 chips. Steve Brecher was in the big blind and called with pocket Jacks. Lindgren could not catch and was eliminated in 43rd place.

Tony Hachem got his remaining chips in with 8d-7d. He moved all in for around 500K and Kenny Shih called from the big blind with As-Jh. The flop came Ah-Tc-Th and the turn was a 3s, which put Hachem drawing dead. He was eliminated in 37th place. Hachem took home $196,174, which is his largest tournament cash to date.

One of the more popular stories in recent days has been that of David “Doc” Sands and his longtime girlfriend Erika Moutinho. Sands is an experienced online MTT grinder, but Moutinho is a new player. Not only was Mountinho the last woman standing, but she and Sands also made it to the final 30 players. Sands was eliminated in 30th place and Mountinho was eliminated in 29th place.

Anton Makievskyi is the chip leader heading into Day 8 with 21,045,000 chips. Makiievskyi was involved in a pot with Chris Moore that ended up being the largest of the tournament. Makievskyi raised it to 400K from early position and Chris Moore called in middle position. The blinds folded and it was heads-up.

The flop came Ks-Jc-Jh. Makievskyi c-bet 400K and Moore raised it to 1.1 million. Makievskyi then re-raised to 2.8 million. Moore then moved all in and Makievskyi called. Makievskyi had Kd-Js for the flopped boat and Moore had Ah-Jd for trips. The turn and river did not help Moore and Makievskyi had taken down the largest pot of the tournament.

Eoghan O’Dea finished the day second in chips with a stack of 19,500,000. O’Dea has an interesting connection with the WSOP final table. His father, Donnacha O’Dea, has twice before made it to the final table of the Main Event. O’Dea is looking to continue the tradition.

Then there is Ben Lamb. Lamb finished with 14,690,000, which puts him in 5th place heading into Day 8. All eyes are on Lamb who has been on an incredible run this series. Lamb admits that he is looking to better his score from 2009’s Main Event when he busted out in 14th place on Day 8.

Day 6 of the 2011 WSOP Main Event started with 142 players looking to chip up and begin their battle for the November Nine. After 4 levels, only 57 players made it through to Day 7. Some big names busted, including Allen Cunningham Eli Elezra, and Jean-Robert Bellande. There are still some well known players left in the running, including Erick Lindgren, Bryan Devonshire, Ben Lamb and JP Kelly.

Ryan Lenaghan currently leads the 2011 WSOP Main Event.

Jean-Robert Bellande was in rough shape for most of Day 6. Bellande was short stacked and managed to double though Tri Huynh when he flopped a boat. However, it was also Huynh who ended up busting Bellande. Bellande was down to 900K and moved all in with As-Ts and Huynh called holding Ad-Jc. Bellande could not catch and was eliminated from the tournament in 65th place ($108,412).

Allen Cunningham was eliminated when his pocket Kings ran into Marc-Andre Ladouceur’s pocket Aces. Cunningham could not suck out and was eliminated in 69th place ($108,412). Eli Elezra was another player who had a big pair run into a bigger pair. Elezra was eliminated when his pocket Tens ran into the pocket Kings of Jared Vengrin. Elezra busted in 107th place for $54,851.

After Amanda Musumeci and Claudia Crawford busted, 62nd ($130,997) and 85th ($76,146) respectively, Erika Moutinho was the last woman left standing. Moutinho spent a good part of the day at the featured table alongside her boyfriend David “Doc” Sand. Both Sands and Moutinho will be returning for Day 7.

Erick Lindgren started the day with 385K but was able to chip up to 2.19 million Lindgren was able to double up and move over the 1 million chip mark when he doubled through Jerry Van Strydonck. The pot was opened from early position for 70k, a player on the button called, Jerry Van Strydonck 3-bet from the small blind and Lindgren moved all in from the big blind. Action folded back to Van Strydonck who called Lindgren’s all in. The players then turned over their cards. Lindgren held pocket Aces and Van Strydonck had As-Kh. Lindgren’s Aces held he moved up to 1.34 million in chips.

Ryan Lenaghan finished the day as the chip leader. Lenaghan is the only person to end the day with more than 10million in chips. He finished with 12,865,000 chips. The next biggest stack belongs to Ben Lamb, who ended the day with 9,980,000 in chips.

Lenaghan took the chip lead when he won a huge pot against Bryan Follain. Lenaghan opened to 110K and was 3-bet by Follain to 355K. Lenaghan then4-bet to 865K and Follain then made it 1.2 million. Lenaghan moved all in for 8 million chips. Follain tanked but finally called and turned over a shocking Ah-Qd. Lenaghan had pocket Jacks. Follain could not catch and Lenaghan took down a huge pot.

When interviewed about the hand Lenaghan says that he felt he had Follain beat when he took so long to call, but was not happy with the call because he figured it was a flip. He admits there was a small chance that Follain had Queens, but he assumed he was ahead and was going to be flipping.

Ben Lamb, who is poised to win the WSOP POY, finished the day 2nd in chips with 9.98 million. Lamb moved over the 8 million-chip mark when he busted Frank Calo shortly after moving to the featured table. The action had folded around to Calo, who was in the Hijack, and he shoved all in for 540,000. Lamb called from the small blind and Erick Lindgren folded in the big blind. Lamb had pocket 5’s and Calo had As-Jh. The flop came 6d-Qc-5c, the turn was a 6c and the river was an 8h. Calo was eliminated in 90th place and took home $76,146.
