2010 WSOP Event #3 – Final Table – Aadam Daya Wins $1,000 NL Holdem
The final table of Event #3 of the 2010 WSOP, $1,000 NL Holdem, started with nine players looking to take down this first open NL bracelet of the year. Aadam Daya started the day as chip leader with 2.85 Million in chips. Here are how the final nine started:
Seat 1: Dash Dudley — 1,355,000
Seat 2: William “Bart” Davis — 1,355,000
Seat 3: Nicholas Mitchell — 1,280,000
Seat 4: Deepak Bhatti — 400,000
Seat 5: Gabe Costner — 1,830,000
Seat 6: Richard Rice — 700,000
Seat 7: Aadam Daya — 2,855,000
Seat 8: Isaac Settle — 970,000
Seat 9: Cory Brown — 2,315,000
Richard Rice was the first player eliminated from the final table. After Nicholas Mitchell raised to 110,000, Rice moved all-in for 575,000. It was A-J for Mitchell against Kd-Qd for Rice. Rice didn’t catch a face card on the flop or turn, but picked up a straight draw. However, the river fell the As and Rice headed to the payout line to pick up $51,735 for 9th place.
Dash Dudley finished in 8th in a battle of the short stacks. Dudley moved all-in for just 250,000 and Isaac Settle made the call. Settle held Ad-Jd against the 10d-7d of Dudley. Only a seven would give Dudley a double up. A seven never came and Dash Dudley received $67,221 for 8th place.
Isaac Settle’s win didn’t last him for long. Soon, he was all-in with pocket jacks against the A-10 from Bart Davis. The flop put a quick end to Settle as it fell with an ace. A jack didn’t fall on the turn or river and Isaac Settle finished in 7th place, good for $88,025.
Cory Brown followed soon afterwards. He moved all-in with J-9 on a flop of 9h-3h-5d. Gabe Costner made the call with 10-7 of hearts. The turn missed both players, but the river fell the 6h to give Costner a flush and eliminate Brown in 6th place. He received $116,141 for his efforts.
Nicholas Mithcell was soon all-in with 4-5 against the A-7 of Deepak Bhatti. The flop fell 4-A-7 and Mitchell needed a four to double up. The turn was a jack and river a three and Mitchell was out in fifth place. He received $154,425.
Bart Davis went out in dramatic style. After Aadam Daya raised to 300,000 pre-flop, Davis re-raised to 750,000. Daya called and the flop fell Jh-9h-5h. Davis moved all-in and Daya made the call and turned over Ah-10h for the nut flush. Davis needed a queen and the board to pair in some other way to win the hand. The Kd on the turn sealed the deal and Bart Davis headed out to collect $206,904 for 4th place.
Gabe Costner finished the event in 3rd place after going all-in pre-flop with A-Q and running into the A-K of Aadam Daya. The board produced an ace, but not a queen and Gabe Costner took home $279,327 for first place.
Aadam Daya started heads-up play with 7.7 Million in chips against the 5.5 Million of Deepak Bhatti. Daya proceeded to grind Bhatti down to the point where Bhatti was down to under a Million with blinds of 120k and 240k. The final hand was Bhatti moving all-in pre-flop with Kh-5s and Daya making the call with pocket queens. A five hit the flop to give Daya a sweat, but the turn and river both hit blanks and Aadam Daya is our champion. Deepak Bhatti finished in 2nd and took home $385,106 for his efforts.
Aadam Daya is the Event #3 Champion. He received $625,872 and the gold bracelet. Congratulations.
