Daniel Negreanu is Right – Full Tilt Has Been Silent Too Long
Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu is well known for being highly outspoken regarding many things in the poker world. He is also known for being very critical and outspoken regarding Annie Duke whose brother Howard Lederer was one of the owners of Full Tilt Poker.
As you know, Full Tilt Poker owes close to $400 Million dollars to players worldwide and Howard Lederer has taken a big part of the blame. Daniel recently stated that he thinks that someone should go old school Vegas on Lederer. In a recent video blog, posted above, Daniel reiterates his sentiments. The comments are in the latter part of the video and are quite strong. He feels that Lederer should be entitled to someone “punching him in the nuts” over what he done with player funds.
While I don’t condone violence to anyone, especially to the degree that Daniel has implied, I do agree with him about Full Tilt’s lack of silence. He went on quite a rant about how that nobody can get in touch with them now and that they have consistently refused to comment on the matters. He then calls them out on the matter and rightly so.
If this was shortly after April 15th or even maybe September, I can see why nobody would say much regarding what happened. Nobody really knew the extent of the real damage until September, but even after that, there was nothing but silence from Full Tilt. Even some type of short prepared statement would have sufficed to appease some in the poker world. However, all we have is silence.
For all intents and purposes, Howard Lederer and likely Chris Ferguson are done with poker. I cannot see any scenario that allows them back into the community after everything that has transpired. Russ Hamilton has a better shot of being welcomed back before Full Tilt now. Heaven help them if somehow the Full Tilt sale falls though. If that were to happen, all three might want to find some secluded island or country to live as one has to wonder how safe they would be in public.
