What I Miss About the WSOP

This past summer, for the first time since I started playing on the live tournament circuit, I skipped the WSOP.  I won’t go into why I didn’t attend, but I will say it was not due to bankroll considerations.  However, there are several things that I miss about being out in Vegas during the summer.

WSOP November Niner Matt Giannetti Wins WPT Malta Title

November Nine Matt Giannetti decided that November was too long to wait to win a major poker title. Instead, he took down the World Poker Tour event in Malta and took home $273,200 in prize money.

Barney Frank and Greg Raymer Renew Call for Federal Online Poker Legislation

Caesar Cup Returns to WSOP-E, WSOP POY Debated, and Officials Got Ladies Event Right

Various news and tidbits regarding the upcoming WSOP Europe came out this week.  The first was the renewal of the Caesars Cup event during the WSOP-E.  This event was last held in 2009 where Team Europe “upset” Team America and captain Daniel Negreanu.

Caesars Cup to Return at 2011 WSOP Europe

WSOP officials announced this past Friday that the Caesars Cup will once again be up for grabs at the 2011 WSOP Europe. The Caesars Cup is a Ryder Cup-style event where the best players from the United States battle against players from Europe.

Why I Think Reentry Tournaments Are a Bad Idea for the WSOP

Leaf Poker Offers 2006 WSOP Bracelet Promotion

WSOP Champion Jamie Gold Starts Online Poker Site

Jamie Gold, the 2006 WSOP Main Event Champion, has now launched an online poker site.  The site, known as FreeGoldPoker.com is a free to play poker site that will service United States customers.
